Title: Secondary reconstruction of lower limb war injuries from Afghanistan and Iraq conflicts (Part 2)

Alexandra Crick MB BS MD FRCS FRCS(Plast) is a Consultant Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon specialising in microsurgical lower limb reconstruction. From 2008 until 2018, Alex was honorary visiting consultant at the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre, Headley Court attending the Peripheral Nerve Injury Clinic, a service established by Professor Rolfe Birch in collaboration with our military rehabilitation colleagues at Headley Court, led by Colonels John Etherington, Alan Mistlin and Rhodri Philip. Several hundred patients injured in the Afghanistan conflict first seen at Headley Court during their early rehabilitation underwent secondary reconstruction of their limb injuries at Odstock Hospital, Salisbury including more than 75 free flaps. She runs a specialist War Injuries Clinic seeing these patients as veterans with support from the military charity Help for Heroes.'
The presentation will be followed by a discussion on cases presented by Ukrainian doctors.
